Water extraction pump from steam turbine direct contact heater. The direct contact heater uses bleed steam from the low-pressure cylinder of the steam turbine to preheat water, which has condensed immediately after the steam in said cylinder has been blown off.

It is the second stage of preheating, which differs from the first, in that the steam heats the water automatically, and not through heat exchange, as happens in the first stage of preheating.
